Laptop “anti-glare” screen question?

Question by gloop05: Laptop “anti-glare” screen question?
The laptop I’m going to buy from Dell has the option of having a screen that’s anti-glare. That sounds good, but I was wondering if it would be any different than a screen that I would normally get (not as bright, etc)? Thanks.

Q&A: Trying to reformatt windows xp pro on my laptop (“blue screen of death” problem) & it refuses to let me?

Question by Bragger S: Trying to reformatt windows xp pro on my laptop (“blue screen of death” problem) & it refuses to let me?
It’s an Acer Aspire One netbook (no cd drive)….I plugged it up to my LG external usb dvd burner & inserted the Windows XP cd…I went into the bios & picked it to boot from the external dvd drive…it said press any key to boot from cd & I hit the space bar…everything seemed normal & the “Windows Setup” began….& then it went RIGHT BACK to the “blue screen of death” at the point where it says something like “Windows is starting” at the bottom of the screen.
This continues to happen consistently…HELP ME OUT PLEASE!
Hey people I am pretty much a novice…the only experience I have with reformatting hard drives is a couple desktops I had to do it on in the past & I never encountered ANY type of problem…so step by step info would be greatly appreciated.

1. Run a memory test on the laptop to make sure its no RAM problem.

www.memtest.org/

2. At what point does the bluescreen appear? Do you see any parts of the windows setup at all?
You may need drivers for your HDD-controller.

3. Try to format the HDD at another computer. If the setup tries to access the HDD and something is wrong with it, this may cause a crash.

4. Other causes:
- BIOS settings
- HDD physically defect
- other hardware problem

the processor and video card might not be good enough, unfortunately these are components that you can’t replace on about 90% of laptops made.
